Legal Actuary (“the Firm”) is an independent firm of actuaries specialising in actuarial calculations and actuarial reports prepared for lawyers, law firms, legal practitioners, mediators, and related professionals.
The Firm is not a law firm and does not provide legal services or legal advice.

2. No Attorney–Client Relationship

The use of this website or communication with the Firm through this website, email, telephone, or any other channel does not create an attorney–client relationship between you and Legal Actuary.
Any information provided by the Firm is actuarial in nature only and must not be interpreted as legal advice.

All actuarial reports, models, projections, opinions, and calculations produced by Legal Actuary are based on actuarial methodologies, assumptions, and data supplied by clients or third parties.

Legal Actuary provides actuarial services such as:

-actuarial calculations for damages claims,

-actuarial valuations for loss of income, support, or dependency,

-pension, retirement, or insurance-related actuarial analysis,

-statistical and financial modelling for legal proceedings,

-expert witness actuarial testimony (where applicable).

All work is performed according to accepted actuarial standards, but is inherently dependent on assumptions, data quality, and future uncertainties.

5. Limitations of Liability

The Firm takes reasonable care in preparing all actuarial outputs, but:

Actuarial calculations are estimates and projections, not guarantees of future financial outcomes.

Assumptions may change as new information becomes available.

Errors or inaccuracies may arise from incomplete, incorrect, or outdated data supplied by clients.

Legal Actuary shall not be held liable for:

decisions made by lawyers, clients, or courts based on actuarial information,

losses arising from reliance on incorrect or incomplete data supplied to the Firm,

indirect, consequential, or incidental damages.

Clients and legal practitioners must independently verify the suitability of actuarial results for their legal purposes.

6. Confidentiality & Data Use

Legal Actuary maintains strict confidentiality in handling client data.

Information provided to the Firm is used solely for actuarial analysis and reporting unless:

disclosure is required by law, or

the client consents to disclosure (e.g., expert testimony).

The Firm cannot be held liable for breaches resulting from unsecure transmission of data by clients (e.g., unencrypted email, third-party file sharing platforms).

7. No Guarantee of Litigation Outcomes

Actuarial reports prepared by the Firm may be used in legal proceedings, but:

outcomes of litigation are determined by the court, tribunal, or parties involved,

actuarial results are only one component of the evidence considered.

Legal Actuary does not warrant or guarantee any particular legal outcome, award, or settlement.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on this website and all actuarial reports produced by Legal Actuary—including calculations, tables, models, graphics, and methodologies—remain the intellectual property of the Firm unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Clients are granted a limited licence to use the reports for the case or purpose for which the report was commissioned.
